Well, my little family (soon to be a BIG family) started in March of 2004 when I met my wonderful husband Justin. It was a whirlwind courtship. We started dating in March of 2004, he proposed in August of 2004 & we were happily married on May 21, 2005. I can honestly say he is my true soul mate & confidante. He keeps me sane!! :) We always knew we wanted kids (only 2) so we decided to start trying in May of 2006. After a few months of trying we got no where so my doctor sent me to a reproductive endocrinologist. After a few tests etc. we found out we were pregnant in September of 2006. Then about 2 months later, my world came crashing down.....I had miscarried & had to have a D&C. I was about 11 weeks by date & 8 weeks by sono. That was absolutely one of the hardest times of my life. I thought "Will I ever be able to give my husband the child(ren) he deserves?". Well then a few months later, he jumped back on the wagon & started trying again. On April 4, 2007 we found out we were pregnant again (with the help of fertility shots). I was ecstatic but scared & the same time. I didn't want to get to excited because the "What if...?" question lingered in the back of my mind. Well, things went smoothly through the first trimester and I was relieved. Then a few months later we found it it was a BOY. Fast forward to November 14, 2007, my precious son, Bradyn Allen Wayne Burleson, was born @ 3:36pm weighing in at 6 lbs 4.4 oz & 20 1/4" long. (And he was a month early to!) He spent a few days in the NICU due to feeding problems and such, then on November 23, 2007 he got to come home & my life hasn't been the same ever since!! He was my dad's birthday present because he was born on his birthday, as well as being his first granchild!!
Well ok, so me & my crazy self wanted another baby & I wanted to start trying again soon because with all of the problems I had in the past conceiving, I didn't know how long it would take & I didn't want Bradyn & his little brother or sister to be that far apart. Sooooo, back to the infertility doc we go (October 2008). We started the shots again & did our thing. By the end of October we found out we were indeed pregnant again!! YEAH! Well when I went back a few days later for a 2nd B-HCG test, my levels had almost tripled. So, when I was about 4 weeks pregnant they did a sonogram & seen 2 sacs. Ok, so I was freaking...TWINS?? Well, went back at 5 weeks for another sonogram & there was 3 sacs, possible 4. I thought "Oh s**t, what am I going to do??" My poor hubby didn't believe be when I called & told him. What is crazy though is when I recieved my shot to make me ovulate I only had 3 good eggs that were big enough to be fertilized. Well, we went back for another sono @ 6 1/2 weeks to check for heartbeats. As I lay there, we were counting the sacs...1, 2, 3. Then started looking for heartbeats, sure enough, there were 3 heartbeats! My infertility doctor immediatly told me she wanted me to go for a fetal reduction down to 2, possibly 1 to prevent complications because she didn't think I would be able to carry them since I had problems before & I have Myasthenia Gravis ( a form of muscular dystriphy). Well after much thought, tears, research & discussions with my hubby & family, I decided NOT to do it. I mean, how could I do this after seeing heartbeats? If God wanted to take one of them on His own, then fine, but I was not going to make that decision because who am I to play GOD?? Soooooo....fast forward, I am now almost 15 weeks with TRIPLETS! So, that is the gist of my story & how my family began!! I created this blog space to keep family & friends updated on the progress of this family & pregnancy. Feel free to leave comments or questions!!
